Thermal and fluids phenomena are associated with a variety of interesting fields of science and engineering such as energy generation, conversion and transport, environmental pollution, and moving vehicles. The subject bearing such an importance to the welfare of mankind, many researchers have been and will be attracted to the challenging problems in thermal and fluids engineering.
Recognizing the needs for stimulation of the exchange of ideas and results, both Societies of Mechanical Engineers in Japan and Korea agreed to provide a conference for such an exchange. The first KSME-JSME Thermal and Fluids Engineering Conference was started in 1988 in Seoul. After the successful meeting, both Societies agreed to hold conferences separately for thermal and fluids engineering from the Second. For the Fluids Engineering Conference, the Second was held in 1990 in Seoul, the Third in 1994 in Sendai, the Fourth in 1998 in Busan, and the Fifth in 2002 in Nagoya. For the Thermal Engineering Conference, the Second was held in 1992 in Kitakyushu, the Third in 1996 in Gyeongju, and the Fourth in 2000 in Kobe. Both Societies agreed to reunite two separate conferences into one conference from the Sixth KSME-JSME Thermal and Fluids Engineering Conference (TFEC6), which was held in Jeju in 2005, TFEC7 in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 2008 and TFEC8 in Songdo, Incheon in 2012.
The time has come to announce TFEC9. It will be held in Okinawa, October 27-30, 2017. In keeping with the tradition of previous conferences, TFEC9 will be open to those interested in the wide range of thermal and fluids engineering. The subjects to be presented at TFEC9 are listed under the title of Scope in this announcement.
It is anticipated that TFEC9 will provide an opportunity for the research motivation as well as for furthering cooperation among the researchers in thermal and fluids engineering in both countries.
Papers in any aspects of thermal and fluids engineering are welcome for presentation at TFEC9. The list of scheduled Organized Sessions (OSs) can be found on Organized Sessions page.
Basically, all sessions will be composed of oral presentations. However, some OSs may have poster sessions, too, depending on the number of abstract submissions.
